BA Systems – UK were recently asked by Inspiration Trust to audit the balustrade on 2 stair cores at Cromer Academy. The original steel and timber slat balustrade didn’t comply with current regulations and was worn and in need of replacement.
The product solution offered was our B20 balustrade with stainless steel handrails and laminated glass infill. This was to be complemented with a B10 stainless steel wall handrail. With a need to get the original product stripped out and the new installed all during the half term holidays, the pressure was on!
1st October – Order received
2nd October – Full survey of the 2 stairs
9th October – Full 3D drawings issued to the client
12th October – Commencement of stainless steel post and handrail fabrication
12th October – Commencement of glass procurement
27th October – Installation commenced
29th October – Installation complete

Removal of existing balustrade
BA Systems removed the existing balustrade which didn’t comply with current regulations to allow for the B20 Stainless Steel Handrails and B10 wall handrail which was designed to comply with current regulations.

Completed within 21 days!
With a need to get the original product stripped out and the new balustrade installed all during the half term holidays, from receiving the order to completing the installation, BA Systems completed the project within 4 weeks – 21 working days from order to installation sign-off!
