Civic Centre Opportunities Site
The Civic Centre Opportunities Site or CCOS is a mixed use residential scheme sent to support the regeneration of St Albans city centre.
The existing buildings and the redevelopment of the site to deliver 93 multipurpose residential units offering a mix of one and two bed apartments, parking, along with office and retail space.
BA systems worked with Pick Everard Architects to create the balustrades for the client.
The client wanted to use our B30 frame and perforated infill panel system on the balconies of the building which showcase an ornate pattern which is built into the frame.
The client also used our B50 system as railings at the back of the building and on the top floor of the building as balustrading for a terrace.
Project Achievements
-
Bespoke pattern on the balustrading
We had to design the Bespoke Pattern on the balustrading carefully as we wanted to ensure that it was safe for users. We made sure that the pattern did not have any sharp edges or rough surfaces that could potentially harm someone’s fingers. This required a precise and meticulous approach to maintain the aesthetic appeal of the balustrading.

Co-Ordination of the fixings of the juliet balconies
Installing the Juliet balconies was challenging due to the presence of stone surrounds around all windows, requiring meticulous attention to detail and precision in the fixation process. It demanded a high level of skill and expertise to execute the task successfully.
